Our story
We plan the trips we run.
No reseller in between. Small groups, a trip leader from our own team, and everything listed before you book. This page is the long version.
01The name
Char kadam. Four steps.
Charkadam means four steps. It's how every trip starts: four steps out of your own front door.
The line under the name is Travel for the plot, and we mean it plainly. A trip is worth taking for what happens on it: the stop you didn't expect, the people in the next seat, the road that was open or wasn't. So our trips are built around the route and the days, and all of it is on the trip page before you book.

What in-house changes
Same mountains. Different deal.
A lot of group trips are sold by one company and run by another. Ours aren't. Here is what that changes for you.
- Who planned the route
- A resold trip: A different company. The seller picks from what's already on offer.
- A Charkadam trip: We did. Every trip on this site is planned by our own team.
- Who's with you on the road
- A resold trip: Whoever the operating company sends.
- A Charkadam trip: A trip leader from our own team, with the group from the first day to the last.
- Who answers before you book
- A resold trip: A sales desk that passes your question along.
- A Charkadam trip: The team that runs the trip. Ask who else is booked on your date and we'll tell you.
- What you see before you pay
- A resold trip: Depends on the seller.
- A Charkadam trip: The day-by-day route, what's included and what isn't, and every departure date with its own price.
02The group
Small, on purpose.
Our trips are made for solo travellers and small groups of friends, mostly between 16 and 40. Groups are kept small, and a trip leader from our own team travels with the group the whole way.
That is the model, and it's why you can ask us who else has booked your date before you pay.

03The page
Everything on the table.
Every trip page shows the same things in the same order: the route day by day, what's included, what isn't, where it starts, how hard it is, and every departure date with its own price.
Where a price is still indicative it carries an asterisk, and we say so next to the number. We'd rather show you an honest maybe than a confident guess.
